How does an insurance backed guarantee work?
In the past, many firms committed to a guarantee on workmanship, obliging them to rectifying any defects post-installation during a pre-determined timeframe. However, this guarantee was not worth the paper it was written on if the business itself ceased to exist.
Since June 2014, all tradespeople must provide an insurance backed guarantee with every glazing installation. An insurance backed guarantee gives homeowners protection, with the ability to claim on their insurance if the supplier ceases trading, with all product defects seen to by your insurer’s approved specialists.
The bottom line is you’ll never be on your own in the event of unlikely product defects.
